The Florida Lions Foundation for the Blind changed its name to Lions Saving Sight in May 2025.

Bringing sight to Florida

One day the doctor tells a young single mother that her beautiful son will live his life without the ability to watch a sunset, or see the toys that she wants to play with. That is unless he has a surgery that her insurance will not pay for. This feeling that she has of hopelessness is much more common than you might think.

We exist to bring hope through sight. Not just physical sight, but also we are bringing vision and hope to Florida.

Mission Statement:

Provide sight saving surgery to needy individuals through Lions Clubs of Florida, The Bahamas, Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao.

Our Services are provided by the highest quality eye surgeons throughout the state of Florida

Our assistance is given through referrals or requests for those in need. Through the application process the client is evaluated for services. Once evaluated, Intake Administrators interview the client and forwards the information to the Director of Operations and/or The Foundation Consultant for approval. The Director of Operations and/or the Foundation Consultant will then select the medical providers providing quality care of the client for the necessary procedure.
